Green Legacy 2026 — Youth leading today for a greener tomorrow.

A Green Legacy tree-planting initiative was held at Hawassa Gudumale Park, jointly organized by the Hawassa City Youth Wing and Gudumale Sustainability Initiative (GSI).

The activity brought together Hawassa City youth volunteers and government officials in a collective effort to expand green spaces and strengthen environmental conservation in the city.

With young people taking an active leadership role throughout the tree-planting activity, the initiative highlighted the important contribution of youth leadership to environmental action and sustainable urban development. It also created an opportunity for youth volunteers and government representatives to work together toward a shared environmental goal.

The initiative reaffirmed the commitment of the organizers to empowering young people to lead practical environmental actions, promote community participation, and contribute to a greener, healthier, and more sustainable Hawassa.
